After all the apparent posturing, BT and Premiership Rugby have agreed a new four year deal

People are getting a tad confused not only here but elsewhere too, it's a new THREE year deal not four covering 2021/2, 2022/3 and 2023/4. the current 2020/1 season being the last of the current deal.

Staying with BT sport, with Australia wrapping up the first test early, Bts2 is showing highlights of a T20 between new Zealand and Pakistan, from eden park Auckland.

This may suggest bt has either gained limited overs cricket in new Zealand from sky, or all international cricket in new Zealand from sky.

Yes, on Christmas night as well as the usual Aussie Boxing Day test on BT Sport 2, BT Sport 3 will be showing the first test between New Zealand and Pakistan.

I know slow TV is the thing at Christmas but that is really pushing it. Wink

Baxk to the Prem Rugby deal .... No mention in it of any FTA coverage, presumably this will be the subject of a later deal to be negotiated in the New Year.

It seems clear to me that we are looking at further significant professional sport cancellations and/or postponements in the short to medium term following today's news. A Stop to some, if not all, sport cannot be ruled out. As for spectator hopes, forget that, probably for the season.

You would think so but nothing mentioned so far. Seems to be a bit of an arrogance about "elite" sport now.

Why? It’s not like much of that (if any?) stopped during the second national lockdown in November, and the rules in Tier 4 areas are only as strict as those from last month.

Because members of teams are now going down with C19 at an alarming rate, the sports can only continue so long until they are suspended because of a lack of Sporting integrity. Three European Rugby fixtures were lost this weekend

Ah, you meant more along the lines of individual outbreaks rather than national restrictions...
