This morning's episode was pretty cringey! I know it was just supposed to be a bit of fun and the intention was there, but it really did get too silly and was more like a children's show. Felt a bit awkward and embarrassed for them.
Eamonn looked good as Santa though! 😀
Eamonn and Ruth are presenting every day from Monday.
I was out for a bit. did Beverley Turner or India Willoughby or dr Chris appear
No, Turner and Willoughby weren't on. The paper review was cut, and they spent that time talking to Christopher Biggins about Barbara Windsor, before he put his pantomime costume on.

What were you expecting, the works of Shakespeare?!

I think you know i wasn't expecting Shakespeare. If you read carefully, I said "I know it was just supposed to be a bit of fun". They just went a little OTT with the 'fun' and it got too silly, that's all.
Whilst it did feel a bit cheesy at times, its nice that they made effort to make all the "family" feel included - by the looks of things they recorded certain segments (such as the Eamonn and Ruth one) throughout the week to accomodate when different presenters were in the studio. However, their attempt at fashion really did feel rushed and forced. Also, Alison Hammond has been getting a lot more screen time lately to the point where she feels slightly overused - this might just be to increase viewer familiarity with her to prepare audiences for her Friday presenting debut.

The Eamonn and Ruth sketch was probably recorded on Wednesday, as they were both on Loose Women and he was wearing the same Santa suit.
Yes, they are pushing Alison Hammond a lot. As you say, arguably too much.
I’ve caught up on the pantomime episode today, and for me it was just what I needed to give me a feel good boost, all participated well and put on a brilliant show.
The changes to the set, graphics and especially the panto esque theme tune were brilliant!
