Lovely bit of unintentional viral wordplay. I'd shake your hand, but...
Hehehe thanks David

Distancing was very obvious in that scene [...] they surely could
mask
it a bit better

At least they all remembered to nicely socially distance while they were on the roof!!
They didn't socially distance. They formed a bubble.
Yes, in Reem.

Most of them stayed until they introduced CG idents, right? Was Tyne Tees, who replaced their ident at the end of the 1979 strike, the first to remove COLOUR from the endcap?
Still seen examples of the Tyne Tees endcap with"colour" on from as late as 1982, so no, they weren't the first. I know Yorkshire dropped it at the start of 1982, and none of the 1982 newcomers used it either, there may have been others earlier too.
Tyne Tees were I think the first to drop it from their ident/frontcap (but then several regions never had it on their frontcap to begin with, like Thames, Southern, Scottish, Anglia, LWT and Westward).

Scottish were going without "colour" on their endcap as early as 1978:

" s tv PRODUCTION FROM SCOTLAND (c) SCOTTISH TELEVISION LTD. 1978"
oh must be a LWT programme.

Which is really weird. It’s like if they were putting ‘Widescreen Production’ on the end of a show in 2014.
Well LWT continued with "colour" on *their* endcap until 1986...

Not *quite* as weird as Thames continuing to do it until mere months before the 1990s...

Why yes, they did. That is because they had no reason to change the endcap because they had the same LWT-on-black background from 1978 to 1986. They only dropped the word "Colour" when they changed idents and the black BG became white
On the other hand, looking at TVARK, UTV seems that they didn't have "Colour" in their endboards. Huh.
Also why is this on the Corrie thread in the first place? Shouldn't we make a whole new topic?

Because someone commented that 1980 was too late to have "colour production" on the endcaps after ITV3 showed the 1980 editions last night.

Tonight’s from 1990 it was A Granada Television Production for ITV with the corporate logo of that era
Sally was pregnant, there was the young Jenny Bradley, Nicky and Sarah Louise Tilsley joined Gail in the Corner Shop and Ivy and Don Brennan were miserable and downtrodden as they always were.
What is noticeable is that it was the 40th in 2000 which was the first year when they did a special storyline. I suppose in 1990 we were still in the old world of TV when stuff like that wasn’t expected
