Ugh, The Sun on Sunday had the wrong logos for two channels in it's Christmas TV preview pullout. Channel 4 had the All 4 logo, and BBC Two's was a mock - stylised as BBC two, similar to BBC One's logo, stacked with the BBC above the two, and in a veridian box. Right colours, wrong font - they've never had a lower case logo! I don't know where they got it from - no such logo comes up when you search for "BBC 2 logo" in Google.

Was it this one? (second one down) https://tvforum.uk/thegallery/bbc-branding-2020-lowercase-45370

Yes, it was!

TVF mocks escaping into the wild again...

Printed guides available around here today now, and all of them were printed before the late changes the BBC made to the Strictly Final.

The changes made to the Strictly Final - where the whole schedule was moved back forty minutes - were reversed a few hours later, so the BBC1 schedule remains as it is in all the TV guides.

Ah, didn't get that memo. Guess someone told them it was too late - frankly it should never have been scheduled at 6pm in the first place. It's not Little Mix after all!

And did anyone spot the Quentin Blake "Clown" ident on Channel 4 this afternoon in among the Christmas animations?

I guess C4 now air The Snowman and accompanying shows early in December to get them on to All4 for the period under the terms of being available on catch-up rather than exclusively to All4.

One thing that grates this year is Alex Jones being the voiceover for Dreams... who appear to be sponsoring every ad break in every channel so her screechy high pitched voice is on all the time. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I thought it was that woman from Gavin and Stacey.

It's always good to be incredibly rude and wrong at the same time; Joanna Page is the voiceover.

Well, the two sound quite similar... and still irritating to hear it so often. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Describing someone's voice as (in my opinion) screechy and high pitched is considered "incredibly" rude...? Really?

I'm the exact opposite, I think it is better when the logo is used and properly proportioned to fit the space. Sky's online TV guide looks great, its a pity Sky Q doesn't have the logos and still has them in text form. Virgin Media's EPG uses the logos as well from what I've seen of it, but I understand its a bit of a mess, but that's because of a lack of quality control rather than the logos being used in place of text.

Sky Q does have them in the top left corner of the EPG of the selected channel

I certainly don't mean to be disrespectful, or to sound like a parent - but each and every opinion *can* be expressed in more than one way... Embarassed Embarassed Smile Wink

Back to TV listings mags, and I don't think it's unfair to say that Santa being on the cover of the Christmas TV Times is as surprising as the sky being blue or the Pope being Catholic. Wink What makes it the "original" Christmas TV guide, though - even if this isn't anywhere near as obnoxious as the Christmas Radio Times calling itself legendary?

Looks like What's on TV and TV Choice have both gone for Emmerdale covers. Didn't What's on TV basically use the same EastEnders photoshoot for their cover two or three years running with the Carters?
