ABC TV PLUS just sounds like a subscription service. The channel appears to just be going through an entire identity crisis and I suppose ABC Comedy didn't do any favours.
If they want to move away from the comedy focus, they should go back to the generic name of ABC2. ABC TV PLUS is too long winded.

It seems to be forever rebranding this channel in Australia.
When I was last in Aus in November 2017 it was still ABC2, then became ABC Comedy in December 2017, and now from Janurary 2021 its ABC TV Plus.

It sounds as if they want it to become a hybrid BBC Two/Three. I dislike the TV Plus name, feels like a streaming service.
ABC in Australia has just finished their 2021 Upfronts and have revealed the rebrand for ABC Comedy.
The channel will become ABC TV Plus from New Year's Day and will be including comedy, science, docs, religious and arts programming in their schedule.
So really, they're becoming more highbrow.
Here's the promo for the new channel.

Why don't they go back to the name ABC2?

I wholeheartedly agree....that channel has gone through a few name changes in the past few years

During the night of 30 Nov/1st Dec criminals broke through the security fences of the main TV and Radio transmitter site for Marseille, at the Grande Etoile. Built originally in 1956 it covers much of south-east France. It looks as though they managed to set fire to the feeder cables at the base of the main mast. Pretty much all TV (21 out of 26 channels) and most of radio (19 frequencies) taken off air, and appear still not to be back.
Thought to be possibly 5G opponents (the site doesn't yet transmit any 5G), or possibly simply people who are against the MSM.

I wonder how many people in that part of France have suddenly discovered that they can watch the bulk of the TNT channels either through the channel apps or through Molotov or Salto?

This isn't the first time that a French TV transmitter has been targeted this way:

Here's a news report on how Britany managed to live without TV in that terrestrial-only era:

I can sense a rebrand coming.
If they wish to rebrand the channel with a new logo.

I have to say that Discovery Inc. is on a roll right now, they are basically buying channels everywhere in the world!

I agree, especially as of the three channels they bought here (Really, Good Food, Home), only Really survives, with the others being rebranded or merged.
