Certainly appears so.
Presumably there was never a "clean" version of the opening theme so you still get the usual SFX over the top of the NYE visuals there, most jarringly the railway station over a vacuum cleaner.
Yes, the double edit is in the run up to the gate, for half a second the camera appears to snap backwards by a foot length, and thats where the cut is between the previous shot run up, and the new one with the bush. Colour levels dip slightly as well.
Those analogue fools thinking all their viewers would be half-cut, rather than actually spending time 30 years later on amazing laptops with colour screens analysing the sound effects that don't _perfectly_ match and frame by frame analysis of topiary

Also said colour screens being LCD or HD-like to give amazing definition beyond clarity.
Listening to Gaby's radio show on BBC Radio London today and she has a 'Question of the Day' feature which she calls um, "The Question of the Day" complete with fanfare each time she reads out messages from listeners!
Rewatching a couple of the early episodes again recently it was surprising how big a feature that was and how long it lasted. Indeed far less changed in the first 4 years than in the last 5 years.
Also watched Johnny and Denise interviewing Gaby - was Gaby the only host to return as a guest?
I feel like Chris Evans came back as a Zig & Zag bathroom guest in the Paul Ross era, but not one hundred percent certain.
I remember that, it was to promote the second series of Toothbrush. Of course, as Zig and Zag were usually pre-recorded, he didn't appear on anything else on the programme.
