Yes most likely so. That was around the same time they cut the closing titles down from nearly two minutes to around 40 secs in accordance with newly imposed BBC guidelines.

Sorry to go off-topic, but the 1991-2001 BBC Two idents technically turned 30 years old last week, (going by VT master dates.)

Is that "The Ident Gallery" DOG along with the BBC DOG? What's up, did the BBC Motion Gallery / Graphics Archive not have a copy themselves so they went looking for one from a presentation website / YouTube.

Talk about a mobius strip of IP stuff.

The archive will almost certainly have a copy - whenever people complain about Oneness on Points of View and they go through the whole "memory lane of BBC One idents" section, they always use Bollywood as the example for Rhythm and Movement. And it's a really crisp, pseudo HD upscaled copy that honestly could run on a junction today. No Ident Gallery logo on it either.

I assume they have removed it as the link no longer works.

Well it's not been removed just access restricted for now (403 rather than 404) so presumably temporary until someone changes it over. Must have been done outside of business hours though which is quite impressive for an official project!

There is a clean version of the unused BBC Two ident from the 2000's batch in which they titled it "Warp". https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/warp-ident-2000

Another example of an ident which I'd have assumed was CGI, but instead a surprise to learn it's stop motion and models.

It doesn't fit the rest of the 2000 set at all though, and I can see why it wasn't used.
