Its a triumph that for the majority of the entries, they have a step by step description of how the graphics were made. Who on earth remembers that much detail decades later?

The BBC Motion Gallery presumably kept all the paperwork for each 'job' and that forms the wording for all the 'how it was made' biogs.

Only had the briefest of glimpses so far but searching "ident" has pulled up some great clips. Sadly not all clean copies although the BBC One Christmas 2000 and 2001 are (and unbranded too). Lovely to hear those in full for the first time. Shame no 1999 - they seem to have 2000 down as that year.

Have a search! https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/bbc-archive-search

There are so many BBC Two idents and stings in there that I spent a bunch of time I was supposed to be doing math on looking at the thumbnails.

One example I noticed were the titles for 1984-85 series of Saturday Superstore.

It featured a more "tropical" remix of the theme tune, but seemed to have been unpopular, as they brought back the original rendition the next year.

Some of the regional programmes are on there, including these awfully awesome Midlands Report titles from 1990

This is great stuff, looking at the BBC 1 & 2 stings of the 1990s, I find it amazing that today with all our technology that the look of pres generally has regressed so much today. Some of those little stings are amazing.

BBC 1 really is a shadow of its former self

Yes, it lacks both style and gravitas

Sadly it didn't take very long for clips from the site to flood Youtube and MHP: Private Parts. Sad

The 1997-2000 Casualty opening titles look so good in high quality and widescreen.
