Come on Asa, you've got to put this thread in the main forum, there's way too much juicy never before seen stuff on here for it to be hidden away on the Websites forum!

Absolutely amazing collection.

Never seen these BBC1 Daytime stings before, were they actually used?

Yes, part of the rebranding of daytime as BBC One Daily in 2000.

To be pedantic didn’t it get branded as “Mornings” from some point in the late 90s up to 2000 (with a bluey/gold watery effect on the menus), BBC One Daily from Autumn 2000-Autumn 2001 (with the coffee cup sting above and upbeat music) and then the other daytime stings above were unnamed and fairly short lived from Autumn 2001 until the 2002 rebrand, though the music lived on in the menus that were otherwise the same as any other time of day.

This is incredible.
What appears to be an early unused version of the L&K theme, with very different ending

https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/live-kicking-1995

Suspect that was the 'thin' mix of the theme, and we had the full blown orchestra and whistles and bells for the proper version.
But the end sounds too much like the end of the round sting from The Weakest Link, so easy to see why that was dropped for the upbeat ending arrangment.

Would love to have seen a short breakdown sequence of how those titles were designed, made, and rendered. It's still one of the better CGI/photographic opening title squeneces around, and after the rather thrown together titeles of Going Live was quite a gearshift upwards and suited the new era of Saturday morning television very well.

Oh right, I must be confusing the latter two since they both prominently used the red and yellow BBC One colour scheme.

And, I'm back to being a giggling wreck again. My favorite one of the lot.
I miss the BBC Three Blob idents - and I'm old enough to know better...

Fairly interesting how BBC Three was originally going to launch on 03/03/03 at 3:03am... Who would stay up that late, god knows. Suppose they couldn't have done 3:03pm because CBBC already took that transponder space at that time, but who knows really, it could've been completely different.

Discovered this website about 2 weeks ago and it's great (particularly the clean idents). (Sorry, should have created a thread at the time).

Hmm, I don't think that's right. I distinctly remember that on 3rd March 2003, BBC Three had a special day where they changed their logo to BBC 03/03/03. I'm pretty sure that it's from that, not the idea of launching it at 3am like the page says.

Great to finally see a full and clean (and hi-res) copy of the 2000 Olympics BBC One balloon ident: https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/sydney-olympic-games-ident-2000

Not their finest work, with some quite dodgy CGI and green-screen movement going on but good for them to make the effort.

I was a bit too young to remember it, but looking back at that era it seems as though it was a really special time for BBC One pres with a number of special idents (the Euro 2000 one is also there), each of which contained well thought out and connected music. I simply adore the Millennium Dome balloon ident - it is superb and quite possibly my favourite balloon ident of the lot.

Didn't know BBC 3 used to do this kind of ECP's.
