BBC & Ravensbourne University Motion Graphics Archive

Treasure-trove of clips

Only had the briefest of glimpses so far but searching "ident" has pulled up some great clips. Sadly not all clean copies although the BBC One Christmas 2000 and 2001 are (and unbranded too). Lovely to hear those in full for the first time. Shame no 1999 - they seem to have 2000 down as that year.

My god, there's so much on there it's hard to know where to start.

Is this an unused CBBC ident from 1987? https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/bbc-childrens-ident-1987

This is incredible.
What appears to be an early unused version of the L&K theme, with very different ending

This is amazing! It seems to cover some idents that pres websites might not have picked up on as well.

It looks visually very similar to the “Children’s BBC Two” ident of the same period, which suggests maybe they commissioned them at the same time and didn’t go with the version for the main afternoon strand.

This is superb. (Ravensbourne are up the road from me, they're great.)

Had never seen this in full before (and it turns out hardly anyone had until 2003):

Come on Asa, you've got to put this thread in the main forum, there's way too much juicy never before seen stuff on here for it to be hidden away on the Websites forum!

Absolutely amazing collection.

Never seen these BBC1 Daytime stings before, were they actually used?

Yes, part of the rebranding of daytime as BBC One Daily in 2000.

This is great, and the background information about how they were conceived/produced is interesting stuff. Nice to see this stuff presented factually.

A highlight for me so far is the set of 90s BBC Radio idents, which I don't remember seeing used in full, in fact the only one I remember is the Radio 1 one with the red neon style writing:
https://www.ravensbourne.ac.uk/bbc-motion-graphics-archive/bbc-radio-1-ident-1990

There's also the presumably even rarer Radio 5 version:
