The relevance there is, if he's self isolating, he isn't going to be presenting any briefings for a couple of weeks! Which potentially affects TV schedules, considering they relegated one to the News Channel last week because it wasn't Boris doing it.

Seeing as he's isolating in the building the briefings take place in it might not be so much of a problem. It's not as if he's not normally working from home!

Sorry, I did see it days ago but hadn't dug into the code to actually see what it is...no-one's asked before!
Turns out it's 6 months, but I can manually update the name.

I'll look into the tooltip too - it's largely CSS to position it but probably just needs to be done properly with some JavaScript, then it can take screen size into account.

As to the megathreads, hopefully the election one will naturally die out. It's a little tricky with Corona as I think there's some valid minor discussion points but anything remotely big should be separate - the GMB news could have been on its own. I wonder if I can tweak the popup to be a little more ahem forceful.

But please, if you're writing that it could be worthy of its own thread - create one! It's going to get noticed more, and means we don't need to cherry-pick posts into a new thread. It's far easier to merge threads back into one if needed.

For the homepage, I thought PNGs would be converted but I'll have to check that. No-one really should be embedding 8000px images though. That's reminded me that there's a few large avatars about too - please change to a smaller one if yours is too big!

This is the image that is getting set as the css background-image for the header of The Gallery when the Children In Need thread is the most recently posted in - https://i.imgur.com/HsP4gS3.png. Its less than 400KB but the 8000px width slows down the rendering of the whole "The Gallery" box on the homepage in Chrome on both Mac and Android (with anything under the Mass Media / Tech not loading for almost 10 seconds on Android).

Is there any reason why the photograph I had as my avatar has reverted to 'DW' out of the blue? I've tried to change it back but it keeps looking like it's done it and then reverting back to the initials.

If you think I'm ugly, there's more subtle ways of saying so.

Try using a smaller photo, some users had very large photos the max res may have changed.

Looking at the logs there have been some errors because the URL has been too long. I've increased the size to fix that but it doesn't explain the appearing and disappearing. All I can think is that because it's a Facebook URL, maybe it's only valid for a short amount of time? Not sure.

Some work has been done on automatically checking avatar sizes (a bit like the signature image check) which will send a PM, but that's not quite ready.

Probably a bit pedantic but if one does a Spoiler tag and somebody clicks the "show hidden content" link to reveal it, should it not change to "hide content" or similar? Maybe it could just be "show/hide content"?
