That's not how British television news really works - and I suspect if someone in the ITV management tried to do that it would backfire spectacularly.
It would be like Newsnight suppressing a story about Jimmy Savile being a prolific paedophile.
Since it mentions independent news. I’m curious how much input does the ITV network have on the newscast? I know they own the largest chunk of ITN. But if there’s a big story about ITV in a negative light (like that talk show suicide) could they ask it to be struck?

See you in America!
I'm assuming there'll be through the night ITV News coverage of the Election. It will be very interesting to see what they do with the studio, given the previous election was headed solely in America and the previous two before then in 2012 and 2008 had recoloured red and blue set designs.

Has ITV confirmed whether it'll.be fronted in the states or at home yet?

My post above should give you a clue.

Should've made myself clearer. I was trying to ask the question about how much of the coverage will be from London and how much from the states (albeit very poorly)

Journalist's I believe are exempt from that rule as 'key workers'
There’s no travel corridor to the USA currently so we can expect Tom and all who travel out to be off-screen for a number of weeks after this having to all self isolate.
