Can someone please dig out a picture of the porter? I think he was in Dream Team wasn't he? Because if he was, I used to know him.

Tonights episode was very good - nice to see Peter back on the show, for the time being at least.

I missed Corrie last night on ITV1 so saw it at 11:15 on ITV2.
Yes, its good that Peter was back, but bloody hell, He looked rough. That moustache should have its own name on the credits!!! It was dire!! I hope he cleans up, or leaves soon. I hope it’s an explosive exit!!

Is it me, or is Corrie going through a bit of a lull at the mo? This Tracy thing is going on too long for one. By the way (for the 2nd time) has anyone got any pictures of that hospital porter?

Sorry I have no pics of the porter - I think his name was Jimmy though.

Anyway, today at long last we had a Corrie cover on Whats on TV - although I never buy this magazine (mainly stick to TV Times or TV Choice) I noticed the corrie cover when I was at the shop.
Inside Soap arrived on time this week and we got a half a Corrie cover and half an Emmerdale cover - oh well better than yet another EE cover I suppose. Next week I hope the TV Mags give Corrie covers as Juicy Lucy gets her final revenge and this may be the last chance to have the lovely Lucy on the cover before she leaves - its a shame we lose Lucy.

There is going to be a Coronation Street Christmas' day on Plus over the festive season.

Part of Saturday 27 December will be given over to show 7 festive episodes of the Street's past.

Here is the episodes they'll be showing:

Christmas Day 1961 10.30/14.00
Boxing Day 1977 11.00/14.30
New Year's Eve 1980 11.30/15.00
Christmas 1981 12.00/15.30
New Year's Eve 1986 12.30/16.00
Christmas Day 1987 13.00/16.30
Christmas Day 1989 13.30 only

It's been a few years since Plus has done any of these past episodes days, but it's always good to see a few old eps.

That is good news - its been about 3 years since Granada Plus showed any themed specials - I currently watch the daily 1992 episodes and have watched since Granada Plus launched in 1996 (with April 1976 storylines) I hope they show more regular specials in the future

I got a letter from Inside Soap today asking for me to renew my subscription when it expires next month - they must be desparate if they are writing to people pleading with them to buy the magazine. They must be joking if they think im renewing, after the way they treat it, always arrving late, the horrible weekly format and giving EE almost every cover.

Sounds like a good line-up, Granada Plus have done this several times. Though like others I am finding the 1992 storylines very addictive, it's worth getting up at 9.00am for it. BTW For those who watched today's episode, Don doesn't die. (A Very sad Soap leak)

Though I was in HMV in Manchester not too long back and you could buy several videos, I think they were called something like Coronation Street Years, which had several years available, and there was something like 4 episodes from that year on video. I remember looking at the 1989 and that looked decent, though the only episodes I recall seeing on there was the demolition of Mike Baldwin's factory, which I saw on Granada Plus over a year ago and Alan Bradley getting hit by a tram, which has been shown endlessly on Granada Plus.

I have some of those Corrie year videos - I think they made 10 videos for the 30th Anniversary in 1990 (videos with the most important years like 1977, 1984, 86, 80 etc). I have the 1986 video (presented by Sally) and the 1989 one (presented by Barbara Knox). The 1989 one includes Alan's trial and death and the 1986 one includes the Rovers Fire, which is one of my earliest memories of watching Corrie - I rememeber Sally and Kevin raising the alarm, they were far better characters back then.

It would be nice for Corrie to show some older episodes with classic characters like Hilda and Elsie in them - Elsie was my fave character on the Granada Plus episodes, sadly I was too young to rememeber her the first time around as she left ithe show in 1984. I have that episode on the 1984 video, it was sad especially as Pat Phoenix died of Cancer a few years after.

Anyway Corrie are soon to introduce a new characters, based on former Corrie Character Len Fairclough - he is called Charlie Stubbs and will be on the show from November - apparently he will be a boozer and womaniser just like Len Fairclough was.

Is he going to be living in Curly's house ? That empty house is starting to annoy me.

What about the talk ages ago about an Asian Family coming to the Street? Was that 'Just Talk' or something?

Well look at the success they had with the last lot, the Desai's. There's only Dev remaining from that lot.

God remember, Ravi, he had to be the worst Corrie character ever. Saeed Jaffery played the part like he a Shakespearean thespian. I guess that's what he is. Laughing

Ah, I remember Elsie, she was one of my favourite characters on Classic Corrie as well, a great shame when Pat Phoenix died. They never made a 'corrie year' video of 1980, I don't think, did they? Even so, if they did make one in 1990, you could be sure the video would be dominated by Ena Sharples' departure. On another note, Jez [on anyone], have you seen the clip from January 1965 where Ena and Elsie had a big bust-up over Elsie's house? Elsie: 'Now look here, you cheeky-faced monkey, you'll only move me out of this house when I want to go - I the mean time go jump in the cot!' And with that - Ena smashed Elsie's window with her handbag... Laughing I remember that bit, especially when Elsie had to be pulled back by Ken to stop her from hitting Ena, the same with her, having to be pulled back by Stan. Err... anyone else?
