PM has called a late press conference for 4pm although not sure if it's COVID related.

EDIT: It is.

Definitely Covid related judging by the line up:

- Boris Johnson, Prime Minister
- Sir Patrick Vallance, Chief Scientific Adviser
- Dr Susan Hopkins, Medical Advisor to COVID-19 Response

Probably just going over figures, new restrictions for London and Lancashire and encouraging people to follow rules

Great coverage from Sky News today keeping us well informed on the 'Tier 3' updates. Live reporting from a number of towns and areas affected.

I feel like they've captured the regional leaders vs Westminster arguments pretty well, plus they've had a number of reports over the last few days from people who think that their area should be going into tier 2/3 and from those who say that it shouldn't - what makes you say that they're not covering the arguments in play? I also struggle to understand what "actual facts" there are that they're not reporting. Liverpool critical care is at 90% capacity - that's 10% higher than where it is normally from what I've read in a variety of sources.

Very poor graphic on the BBC News at Six this evening completely confusing cases per 100,000 with the number of people per case. Combined with the voice over that suggested the rate of cases were highest in NI while the graphics suggest cases were lowest in NI this shows a complete lack of knowledge of basic statistics and should never have got close to air.
Brekkie and Matthew_Fieldhouse gave kudos

In the future will they get the date format correct on the slides?

I've seen (hopefully just in jest but you never know these days) calls to defund the BBC over the past day because 'Auntie' is using the US date format.

I see that Victoria Derbyshire is all across tomorrow’s front pages, in a story saying that she will break the Covid rules this Christmas
