Surely this isn't the first promo slide they've made in 15 years though.

It does show up as one of the first results on Google Images. I’m not saying they’re lazy, and I really can’t, because I’ve taken to just downloading the first picture I see on Google because I need to get something done.

I’m sure it isn’t but they don’t make them routinely that’s what I’m saying, and they don’t work in presentation and marketing either they work in news so the minutiae of the latest branding changes won’t be on their radar. To people on tv forum that old logo is sacrilege. To people who spend the majority of their time making news graphics for packages it’s a red box with BBC One written in it. They will, I assure you, have made it with the best intentions and think it’s ok.

ITV Cymru Wales's Ruth Wignall covered the Central Weather today.... though I noticed she's not Ruth Wignall anymore and has gone back to her maiden name of Ruth Dodsworth.

She did spend a while with no name displayed on the opener to her forecasts at all so I suppose that's why.

Her Twitter handle changed over the summer and she alluded to a fresh start. Can only wish her every happiness. Have met her a few times and she's lovely.

Ruth’s covered central before I think.

Whoever is in charge of Central’s Instagram clearly doesn’t know that Central Television didn’t even exist in the 70s

It's about 1995/1996 from the 'Central is...' promos at the time.

A long way off the late 70's - which of course can't even be possible.

I’m not surprised- it’s always been a time capsule of presentation at the Mailbox. I can remember BBC One Midlands continuity announcements as late as 2006/7 still referring to ‘One’.

‘Now on One’ lives on! Used in BBC One East’s continuity into Step Into The Ring this evening.

Looking at the names on other pages of those departing BBC news in the regions, it prompted me to ask what has happened to Michael Collie from BBC Midlands Today?

Does anyone know the precise year that the national CA would have stopped calling BBC1 ‘One’?

Around 1991? Only a guess but based on viewing old continuity.
