The websites now have the new-look backgrounds, but still the old logos. The pink text on a purple background looks rather garish to my eyes.

Exactly, they are contour lines joining points of the same height. Lines close together means significant elevation change, lines far apart means it's flat. Wonder if they are genuine!


Sadly not - if they were, then BBC Radio Lincolnshire's page would be almost blank!

One of the odd things with BBC local radio is that for several years now, they haven't had a website as such. A link to bbc.co.uk/radiosheffield takes you straight to a BBC Sounds listen live page, with some brief schedule information, a list of recently played music and some "highlights" (which in the case of BBC Sheffield date back to 2018 at the newest).

There isn't an obvious link to local Sheffield news on the BBC News website or news from local sports teams on the BBC Sport website - another example of the disjointed nature of the various BBC departments. When the most interesting content they can think to put front-and-centre on their "website" is the Competition Terms and Conditions, they need to either try harder or stop trying.

That's not really different to any BBC radio station, though, local or national.

Actually, it was ReelWorld who did the jingles.
They've did work for the Heart Network.

Also even though it's one of the "nations" stations, BBC Radio Scotland is also getting a new Reith-ed logo.

Radio Ulster and Radio nan Gaidheal are possibly going to be Reithed next.

Heads up to anybody who can't see it, it's an entirely white image. Switch to dark mode.

That logo looks quite nice. I wonder if/when we'll see new logos for the national stations.

BBC Radio Wales and its Welsh-language siblings already have Reithed logos.
But yeah, a change for the main BBC stations would be welcome

Whereas, when it comes to the local stations, the logos that briefly appear when you first go onto the station listen live/homepages are still in Gill Sans Bold - except for the eight stations which underwent name changes earlier in the year, where the logos have just been updated, somewhat belatedly, within the last day or so. But have they taken the opportunity to use the new Reithed logos? No, that would be far too sensible - instead they've made them in Gill Sans, standard weight. Confused

The new logos do now appear on the schedule and programme pages, however.

why are they so discombobulated? and why hasn't BBC Radio London got the new jingles yet?
