I guess one thing we can be sure of is there won't be any transatlantic celebs this time (unless they're UK based, anyway). So nobody like Kelis, Cee-lo or Jake Shears this year.
I imagine they’ll be able to find US and Australian artists that are now based in the UK.
It may well be in the Broadcast article, but the suggestion in the regular series is that recording takes place over consecutive weekends and the contestants get to go home in between (and practice!). If they're all bubbled up I guess the recording schedule will be compressed a bit - I wonder if that'll make any difference to the show.
I can't see that Broadcast article so don't know exactly how it was done but it will presumably change the dynamic of the programme a bit - if they were all isolating together not only will they know each other a lot better at the start. There'll also be the factor of them not seeing their families as much, assuming they weren't brought into the bubble too.
I would assume that the series was filmed quicker too as if they're all isolating then they haven't got normal life to have between the weekend filming, meaning less practise and rest time too
The new series of A League of Their Own started this week on Sky One, with a virtual audience seen briefly on screen, but the applause and laughter was clearly canned throughout the show.
For a straight game show like The Chase then I'd agree. For a comedy crossover like League of Their Own or Cats does Countdown then it must be harder without an audience.
You have to consider as well that if these shows are repeated, they will have to fit in with all the other episodes in the past and the future that have a real audience. Using a fake audience combats that somewhat. (Dunno how they'll deal with the repeats of the last series of HIGNFY though)
