Seems like a pretty clumsy setup tbh. News Channel viewers continue to see a certain unfit programme for 2 hours in the evening. With the same number of presenters you could have Outside Source on WN only and have the simulcasts from 9.
Could have a 9pm-1am shift done by Christian and a 6.30-9 NC only shift done by Willcox.
I get that there are more teams in the gallery behind the scenes whose shift patterns would also be affected but surely this isn't an insurmountable problem with a bit of rejigging to give NC viewers relevant news in the evenings.
It is a bit rubbish that the simulcasts start at 7pm on weekdays but later at 9pm on weekends.
Not happening-i think we need accept that mistakes can be made sometimes and Victoria got her days mixed up in the tweet (and is not back on air til tomorrow.) and that this joint World progamme isn't happening as the World shifts seem to have been as they were so far today.
Maybe she was referring to the report version of her Panorama being shown on the news channel,
The second edition of Outside Source at 20:00 is only 30 mins long.
It is a “normal” BBC news programme on the News Channel from 20:30 (World has HARDtalk at 20:30), albeit presumably presented by whoever is presenting Outside Source.
'New Day' returned to Studio 19Y (usual home pre covid) at Hudson Yards this morning with John Berman and Alisyn Camerota at either side of the oval desk, maintaining the social distancing implemented before they went to flash and home studios.
Scratch the first bit as Shaun Ley on is this morning instead!
The first male presenter to do between the hours of 09:00-13:00 since the pandemic started? Even before then it was a rarity, with it mainly being Victoria, Joanna, Annita and Carrie, and then Rachel, Rebecca and Geeta when needed. Shaun and Julian made occasional appearances but in the last couple of years mornings on the NC have been very female dominated.
