Mmmmmm that 2001 overnight headline bed. But does anyone know why it was pitched up slightly compared to everything else? It's not even a full semi-tone, but the News 24 and World beds are all at the correct pitch (of B♭ for those playing at home)

Some of us aren't tuned in 24/7. What exactly happened?

I'm expected it to be an announcement that the old schedules are returning Wink

I don’t know why they insist on using that washed-out newsroom background 🤷‍♂️

Indeed it’s even worse than the 2008 N6 backdrop which was clearly the inspiration for this newsroom backdrop.

Apologies if my "tongue in cheek sensor" is off here, but wasn't the 2008 N6 backdrop based on the plans for NBH?

It’s amazing how that newsroom backdrop makes studio C look dark and claustrophobic, it’s a relief when they use the daytime London background, it must be an illusion.

That'll be in a 5 minute slot on prime time BBC One in a speech by the Director General. Wink

I disagree with the newsroom backdrop blacklash. It adds a little bit of variety. The London background has been used for the last seven years and is a little bit stale at this point especially for viewers of BBC WN who see it almost all the time (and now even more with the generic bulletins).
I still think that the screens should be used with more variety: pictures related with the story (in a similar way that the screen on the left is used, or like Studio B) or a globe moving background.

Seems like a few lights weren’t working on tonight’s bulletin.*
