It's huge which gives them plenty of space for various challenges and areas.

This could be exactly what the show needs to keep it fresh and entertaining. I wonder what the chances are of it being more popular this way and the format being altered permanently...

I think they’ll be some increased interest initially due to the change of location. But I think it’ll lose that sense of escapism at the start of winter being down under gives and it will lose something with the reduced daytime hours. I think there is a chance they might be able to attract one or two stars who’ve never fancied the long trip down under too.

I can’t see them abandoning the Australian location completely as it’s very much part of the brand and probably allows them quite a lot of flexibility and helps to stop stunts from the press and protesters. Also doubtful the German’s would be happy with moving their version to the UK full time. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the German version next year?

I also think there is a chance of them doing a Love Island and adding in a UK series and Aussie series from next year if it’s successful.

But yeah, think it’ll be alright for a one off but don’t think it’ll work as well full time as the sole series.

Surely the German version could adopt the castle format? Germany has plenty of castles that could do used.

I’m sure for next year. I’m not sure about for an ongoing basis it’ll make sense to operate their own location. It might be cheaper when you consider flight costs but then you’re having to replicate a lot of things at more than one site.

A lot of this depends on how quickly international travel returns to pre-COVID levels.

I guess practicality wise long term the site isn't likely to be available to do say an annual spring series as it's usually open to tourists. Less of an issue to close it up as we head into winter, and I'm sure bringing in some much needed revenue this year.

Except for all the scientists who did and have been keeping an eye out for Disease X ( as they called it ) .

Such predictions is the reason why there is a place to study such diseases in Wuhan

Never thought I'd see the day Abergele would be described as "picturesque". The castle is stunning though as you drive along the North Wales coast

I wonder if Extra Camp could end up getting a final reprieve given they don't have the expense of sending a crew and guests halfway round the world this time. ITV2 has barely registered with the loss of Love Island this summer and Extra Camp at least always delivered about 400k a night.

Good point, and of course having guests remotely has now been normalised so something they could do long term as well.

Well I guess ITV have found out how much it costs to hire a castle for four months.
