They should produce the NC with a greater focus on international stories and simulcast it on World 24/7.

Even before the pandemic, CNN doesn't apologise for having a lot simulcasts of its US channel on its International channel.
Probably because it's ultimately an American company, therefore viewers must expect to see a lot of US news on its channels.

Same with BBC. Viewers around the world know BBC is British and would surely expect any BBC channel to favour British news.

Watching around the world as a casual viewer, if you put Sky News on, you know British news will take centre stage. If you turn on Al Jazeera, you expect to see more Middle Eastern coverage. Same with Russia Today, France 24 etc.

At this stage they should either merge the 2 BBC news channels into one.
Or at least rename BBC World News to BBC News - both channels under the same name, making simulcasts smooth.
CNN's International channel refers to itself on air only as CNN, the same name as their US domestic channel, and it works!

AJE definitely has more news on the Middle East and often give priority to those stories despite them advertising themselves as "truly global". But on the other hand, they do put a bit more effort in reporting news from Latin America, Africa and Asia (outside China) than BBC World News and CNN. This is similar with France 24 but with France.
I don't want to see BBC News and BBC World News merge. Renaming BBC World News would be better and it makes no difference to viewers. The overnight hours are "BBC News" and it's "This is Newsday on the BBC". And the people who watch BBC World News don't call it that, they just call it BBC News.

Exactly.
It works for CNN US and CNN International channels both just being called CNN.

BBC World News name should be BBC News, the same as the UK channel. There is no need for the word World in it. ''BBC News" is the brand. There shouldn't be any other words between them, separating them.
Call it BBC News, then it's consistent everywhere.

It's like when ITV wanted to strengthen "ITV News" as a brand, and changed their progtamme names so nothing split up "ITV" and "News". (ITV News Central, ITV News Meridian, ITV News at Ten, etc.)

Martine's shifts seem to be pretty solid at the moment which is great! I would love to see Lucy Hockings on the NC/Network but it never seems to happen........yet!

Lucy Hockings is exceptional so it's likely World will want to keep her.
