yet the cue dots still appeared where they would have been originally shown

Not that long back, ITV3 showed an episode with a slowed down flashback of the scene where Archie was blown up- complete with cue dot!

I would have assumed a cue dot would be added in post production at the same time, or even after, EOP stings and credit sequences were added. It’s strange that the footage used in the VHS has the dots intact as versions of the scenes without credits/music were evidently used.

ITV3 has skipped an episode today for some reason. First episode was 7th January 1997, second was 9th January, completely missed 8th January.

Bit poor as the skipped episode was quite eventful and a lot of things in today's second episode don't make sense without seeing it. I really hope this wasn't a deliberate decision, it's bad enough them cutting scenes for strange reasons never mind a whole episode!

ITV3 have skipped over the 8/1/97 edition today. It's listed on the EPG, so I can only assume it's a mistake.

And they showed the 9/1/97 episode for a second time today... shows yesterday's episode skipping was a mistake,

ITV Hub doesn't have the skipped episode, sadly.

Well you would have thought they'd show the skipped episode today instead of showing the same episode twice!

Perhaps it is unavailable for some reason? Unlikely though.

Someone wrote on Digital Spy yesterday:

Apparently when getting these eps ready to air they made a mistake and made two copies of the ep 09/01/97 but labelled one of them 08/01/97 so yesterday second ep was billed as being 08/01/97 when in fact it was 09/01/97 and therefore shown again troday under the correct date . it seems no one actually checked the eps and did not pick up on the error that had been made nor have the bothered to do anything about it to air the missing ep .

The ITV Hub only has it up once though, listed as the 28th July 2:15PM episode- though it has the episode description of the 8/1/97 edition.

Still not as bad as what they did with Corrie last year and showed the two Xmas Day 1991 editions in the wrong order, and skipped over the 23/12/91 episode entirely.

Edit: Actually looks like they have replaced it with the 8th Janaury edition on the ITV Hub. It was still the 9/1/97 edition when I looked earlier.

We've just seen Emmerdale's first 5 episode week (31st March-4th April 1997), the first of many over the following 3 1/2 years until they go 5 times a week full time. An hour long episode thrown in on the Tuesday that week for good measure as well.

A lot of hour long episodes and 5 episode weeks to come from this point on. The next hour long episode will be in a little over 2 weeks.

Before today's ITV3 episodes, the pre recorded continuity announcer said: ''Today's episodes are dedicated to John Glenn who played Johnny Leeze''.
It should have been "... Johnny Leeze who played Ned Glover".
Quite insensitive that it wasn't corrected and that they let it be broadcast before both episodes.

John Glenn was Johnny Leeze's real name... still an awful mistake to make.

It was appalling. Good intentions but shows ITV3's sincerity when they can't even be bothered to check the name of a major character that appears in pretty much every episode of CE at this time. Very insensitive to his family.
