This might be the reason as to why Ed Henry was fired but Tucker Carlson wasn't. Let's look at the facts in front of us and not base things on what we feel or on our own skepticism of Fox due to its past failures.

WOW. Faux News is not even carrying the 2020 DNC Convention. shocked not shocked. But Im sure MSNBC and CNN will carry the RNC Convention as any reputable American news organization should carry both. But they will jump up and down and scream bias when CNN or MSNBC does or says anything and yell deeply into their echo chamber.

A few weeks ago Fox were the only TV news outfit who had committed to sending a reporter to the convention itself

Interesting extract from Brian Stelter's forthcoming book on the relationship between Trump and Fox News:

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/08/sean-hannity-fox-news-staffers-feel-trapped-in-trump-cult

Quote:
Hannity played his part masterfully. But his friends told me he was burnt out for long stretches of the Trump presidency. Being the president’s “shadow chief of staff,” as he was known around the White House, could be a thrill, but it was also a serious burden. Hannity counseled Trump at all hours of the day; one of his confidants said the president treated Hannity like Melania, a wife in a sexless marriage. Arguably, he treated Hannity better than Melania. Hannity’s producers marveled at his influence and access. “It’s a powerful thing to be someone’s consigliere,” one producer said. “I hear Trump talk at rallies, and I hear Sean,” a family friend commented.

Hannity chose this life, so no one felt sorry for him, but the stress took its toll. “Hannity would tell you, off-off-off the record, that Trump is a **** crazy person,” one of his associates said. Another friend concurred: “Hannity has said to me more than once, ‘he’s crazy.’”

Rumours of Fox News' channels are greatly exaggerated, according to the New York Times.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/08/09/business/media/fox-news-ratings.amp.html

Surprisingly for a news channel (albeit a partisan new channel like all American news channels seem to be), it even gives the main entertainment networks a run for their money in prime time.

I think the most important aspect is the demo rather than the overall rating. Fox News skews old which doesn’t make it that desirable to advertisers.

TBH, critics of Fox News have been making the same point for 15-20 years now and it doesn't seem to have made any difference to Fox News' reach, popularity, or extreme profitability.

It's very desirable to advertisers who want to target products to older people. In a similar way that Sky Sports Golf is desirable for golf equipment/holiday companies. There's no point Callaway paying big bucks to advertise in BGT when the number of golfers it picks up would be very small in relation to the cost per viewer.

Isn't Fox News the number 1 cable news network? It will take a while before the decline is noticeable and I don't see CNN and MSNBC taking the crown just yet.

You really do need to do your research when it comes to viewing figures.... HERE and across the pond.

FOX have been thrashed during Covid. Fox have suffered BIGLY since March. A serious lack of journalism and damage caused by 'hosts' has led to its demise.

CNN has seen nothing but gains since March, often surpassing MSNBC.

CNN are the only real winners here.

Dear Sebastian, I see you are a new member to this forum so I'll be courteous and extend a warm welcome.

Please read people's posts thoroughly and try to understand them and also research conduct your research before launching in some ill-executed reply. The one in question I am replying to with calmness and courtesy, not some aggressive tirade.

First and foremost I didn't claim Fox weren't #1 in the ratings, so you've embarrassed yourself there. Secondly, what I posted was factual. Read below, go calm down dear changes channels.

It is widely reported that CNN has gained BIGLY during this pandemic as viewers turn to channels who report the news, not fiction as FOX tends to do when there are non journalists at the anchor desk.

Stay Calm, Stay Safe, Do Your Research.

Patronising was my intent, 'Deceit' however was not.

FOX have taken a thrashing during this time! For goodness sake, read the articles I have posted. Sure. Fox still reigns but numbers are down as more and more people turn to networks that report the news, not pedal crap! Open you eyes.

My fellow forum member - you are not worthy of conversing with further.
