Works for me too. I’ve seen it countless times in the past, but still fascinated me every time.

Thanks for posting it again. 👍

I remember Tomorrow's World did something similar. That used to be floating about somewhere online once, can't seem to find it anymore though

At last I found the How Do They Do That feature on the behind the scenes of the virtual computer generated BBC News studio 1993-1993.

Nice find, thanks! Looking at below - I don't recall Business Breakfast at all (probably due to being a child), but was this 'pose' a normal presenting style or is this from a preview of what's coming up or something? Presumably the presenters were behind the desk at some point. What an unusual desk though...

Business Breakfast was originally called Breakfast Business when it launched in October 1989. It was part of the first half hour of the newly launched BBC Breakfast News, running from around 6.35am until 6.55am in the BBC Breakfast News slot.

In early January 1993 it became a standalone programme in its own right and remained there until 2000.

I don't recall the presenters sitting on the desk at all. All the times I watched Business Breakfast, it was presented double-headed and they were always seated behind the desk.

A pose indeed. Nobody was perched on a desk until Kirsty Young did it at the launch of 5 News. Oh, or the ITN lunchtime promo from the Newsroom in the 90's.

Correct and it was presented by Paul Burden and Fiona Foster.

They were the main presenters at the start, but it soon became a rotating mix of the BBC's Business presenters. By 1993, Fiona Foster had left for LNN.

Incidentally, on the Business Breakfast front, whilst it was launched as part of Breakfast News in 1989, it was spun off from the main programme at the beginning of 1993, months before the change to the virtual set. I'd always thought that had happened concurrently.

I seem to recall the first edition from the new virtual set opening with the presenter saying something along the lines of "While we have a new look, let me assure you that our agenda has not changed", so the Business Breakfast hour long format had already been established by that point.
