Somebody seems to have uploaded the wrong cut of last night's 19/20 Alsace and it shows the presenter, Caroline Moreau seeming to get angry that she has been asked to do a practice run of a segment a few mins before the programme. At 01:52 she seems to swear and slam her clipboard à la Chris Jansing. Oops.

I really don't know why Canal had to muck about with iTélé, it was an easy to digest rolling news format with graphics to match.

CNEWS, which is basically the same set as the previous channel has graphics that are on a par with Euronews for being too large.

The Apollo Theatre in Paris and Molotov.tv (France's version of TV Player) are currently streaming a PPV stand-up comedy event with Jean-Marie Bigard, who is huge in France. Think Michael Macintrye in terms of success, but a lot cruder with his material!

They're using a 4 camera set-up, with a limited studio audience and fans on Zoom.

France 3's national bulletins are back in their normal studio. However the presenter is now sitting down at the desk throughout rather than standing up.

BFM TV and sister NextRadioTV channels (RMC etc) are currently on strike, with amended programming in place. Not much live news on the channel today, but cumulatively BFM TV on strike is still doing almost the same amount of live news transmission as Franceinfo on its provisional schedule!

Somewhat alarming news for Franceinfo - even with no live programming during the BFMTV strike yesterday, purely the ticker alone providing election updates, BFMTV still had roughly double the audience of Franceinfo (despite Franceinfo being live 6-10am, 12-1pm, 7pm-midnight and for the first 15 mins each hour in between).

France Télévisions provided elections coverage on France 2, France 3 and Les 1ères so perhaps Franceinfo was "overkill" to an extent?

On n'est pas couché, the Saturday night chat and debate show on France 2, is ending after 14 years. Guess it's a little hard to justify continuing when you can't have a studio audience anymore. I'm glad I got to sit in the audience last year, though I was too shy to raise my hand when Laurent asked who had traveled the farthest to be there. It was a really interesting format that I hadn't really seen anywhere in anglophone media – big names in journalism, politics, literature, entertainment, and sport come together for a free-flowing conversation over the course of three hours with a studio audience.

The highlight of On n'est pas couché has to be comedian Florence Foresti coming on as Madonna.

She'd do a feature where she'd come on as a French or English speaking celebrity and do an exaggerated satirical impersonation. The Britney Spears one is worth checking out also.

I love Florence Foresti..

Italian TV is also pretty similar in terms of parodies within a show.

You should check especially popular Virginia Raffaele

BFMTV's schedule continues with full on franglais in its choice of titles from late August...
9am-12pm becomes Live Toussaint (currently Le Live BFM )
7pm-9pm becomes 120% News (currently 19h Ruth Elkrief / 20h Politique / 20h30 Live )
10pm-midnight becomes 22h Max (currently Le Tonight Bruce Infos )

CNEWS is making only tiny changes following a self-proclaimed successful season. LCI is making a few minor changes (mainly staffing as opposed to formats) and no word re Franceinfo yet.

"Le tonight" is particularly weird

And that's from a country which wants to protect the language from outisde influences
