Were they? They looked like the original edit to me - given that it was a two-hander with only Den, Angie and the uncredited window cleaner appearing.
Think the credits were edited on tonight’s airing of Classic EastEnders on BBC One. They lasted about 45 seconds-ish rather than the nearly two minutes that some of the older episodes lasted.

Yes, the credits were that length when Drama showed the episode around 18 months or so back. They were short on the Sharon/Michelle two hander a couple of years later as well.
We get the episode without a film look too, unlike when Drama showed it, which was during the 3 month period they were showing most episodes filmised for some reason.

Just thought, it is only just over 18 months since Drama showed this episode, yet now they're nearly 8 years ahead of this point... we really have rushed through time.

There were some extremely short credits on the second ep on New Year's Eve 1987, presumably because they'd already credited everyone earlier that night.
BBC1 also showing Sharongate next week, stealing a march on Drama who'll get to it in the next couple of months.
Incidentally I've always wondered when the "Sharongate" title started being use - I don't remember it being used at the time but was popular by the end of the decade, and seemed to have become official by the 15th anniversary?

It's good they picked that episode rather than showing the Christmas Day divorce for the 20th time.

DS has an article on how EE's return to filming has been marked with a new permanent mural being painted on the set:

With the imminent change of set, how is this going to be handled? Are they painting an equiavalent one on the new set, going to find some way to move it over? I can't see them unveiling this, then having it vanish when they move to the new set.

They'll move it, I'm sure. There was a Banksy artwork in Hull on a disused bridge. The council carefully removed the artwork so that they could demolish the bridge. This is a similar situation.

I’m sure it will be part of the deal to paint it twice. Unless they’re going to make its removal a storyline - could be an interesting angle for some residents to campaign to get it removed and for others to see that as an attack on BAME artists, artwork and freedom of speech.
It’s not really the same though is it? Obviously unlike the Banksy artwork this artist was commissioned to produce his work.
So they could easily get him to recreate it, if that’s the easier way to do it. Indeed that could have been the deal they made with the artist.
