I notice from video clips they’ve posted on twitter that they haven’t managed to get the screen behind the primary presenter seat so that it displays or scrolls smoothly on camera - the rolling text in particular rather flickers. Comparatively, the display behind the second position (Stig Abel’s, this morning) seems fine - albeit with quite a bit of glare and reflection from outside the studio.
Listening on Radioplayer, there’s also a rather unfortunate feedback-like high frequency noise audible from the studio microphones (but not when they play recorded trails/promos).
Edit: I also think the breakfast guest shot is a little unfortunately framed - rather little of the screen behind them is visible, unlike the black studio door:
And also a shame they haven’t got a system where the camera switches between guest and presenter in an interview, which LBC or Five Live manage (though I’m unsure if that’s manual or automatic). Radio is increasingly becoming a visual medium (hence the fancy studios), but a 2 or 3 minute clip where it’s locked on a single shot, with the interviewers’ voices heard offscreen, makes for less pleasant viewing.
