Ive just been looking for some information on the Rugby World Cup and thought I would try the web address given out TWICE on today's HTV News.

http://www.itv1wales.com/htvsport

Ohwell it might be there in time for the Opening Ceremony!

If you follow the HTV Sport link from that 404 page, then click on the Rugby World Cup box on the right, it takes you to www.htvwales.com/rugby -- perhaps that's the current home of the page they'll eventually re-direct that link to.

Either that, or they *meant* to say www.itv1wales.com/sport in the first place, no "htv".

And you'll also notice that it doesn't matter how they dress the website up with propaganda, you'll still get redirected to the properly addressed page because, quite simply, nothing exists on itv1wales.com -- so I've no idea why they bother pretending it does.

I think its because they want the channel to be known as ITV1 Wales not HTV so call the website that! Notice in my sig I have HTV Wales as the channel Very Happy

Ive noticed Tara has been doing the late bulletins a few nights this week too!

What are you boys on about?
www.itv1wales.com/htvsport works okay for me...

What's with the BBC and their lack of coverage of Ian Botham?

I do find it funny that almost a year on, and the great itv1wales/htvwales debate hasn't stopped.

itv1wales/htvwales - I suspect it's the same company.

Seems quite appropriate that the mock title (or should that be mock turtle, as I understand THEY don't actually exist) has to redirect its hits to the real title.

Very Alice in Wonderland!

Now Seren, you *know* that anything that gets raised on this thread gets acted upon with immediate effect. I can assure you [and I'm sure Owan can too] that at 7am that link was not working.

You'll notice, as does Mr Harvey, that it indeed links you to the correct address, www.htvwales.com/sport . We ought to start getting paid for this I feel, just imagine the distress felt nationally about the lack of that page for many hours. And after they promoted it so heavily..

You're right about Ian Botham and the BBC, even Calendar pays more attention -- apparently some place in Yorkshire is sending him food.

Ah but Jez, do you not see how much more logical it would be for a programme called HTV News to be linking to an HTV site? Not least because er, that's where the site is, www.htvwales.com/news -- not any of this itv1wales crap.

Calendar plugs www.yorkshiretv.com, Meridian Tonight plugs www.meridiantv.com and so on. And news programmes are the only times regional websites are mentioned, there are no addresses on idents anymore. You don't see them promoting itv.com/yorkshire, which are technically *their* new on-screen names, ITV1 Yorkshire etc. -- They're sticking to the proper addresses.

They don't want to say it -- Lucy makes that much clear. We don't want to hear it. It's the nonsense opinions and choices of the few being thrust on all of us. Propaganda.

And come on, own up -- who burnt down Somerfields in Maesteg? That's both of them burnt to the ground now. They have to lay on buses down to Porthcawl. Hmmm, suspects...

Great to see Sally back on GMTV bulletins this morning Very Happy - equally nice to see Sam Lloyd do the sport on HTV News this evening! I noticed Jonathan said "on this channel" rather than the ITV1 Wales nonsence. Lucy also commented on how well he read out the website addresses at the end of the program tonight.

Well tommorow AFAIK the GMTV bulletins are as normal - then nothing until 1.50pm due to the big opening ceremony and 1st game of the World Cup - then the usual 3pm bulletin before the big 6pm one.

htvwales or itv1wales?
Ruth Dodsworth or Ruth Wignall?
Marathon or Snickers?
Opal Fruits or Starburst?
Olivio or Bertolli ?
Cif or Jif?
I'm sure there are more.
but none of you have spotted this?

www.bbc.co.uk/wales/news or http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/default.stm

So, well done for spotting that goof on their website, but did any of you do yourselves a favour and e-mail htv about it?

I did, that's how I know it works.

I had to laugh this week, when speaking after the amalgamation of Carlton & Granada was allowed by the Government,- Michael Green said that they, (Carlton) had put more into the regions since they were taken over. All we see is a shrinking regional output and job lossess.

And I can also assure you of that fact.

However, one can expect that once Mr Seren, or is it Probert, reads the thread, then it will get changed to avoid TOO much critisism.

I'm intrigued about the e-mail, however. Why on earth would one e-mail ones self?

Time for the Doormouse to jump back in the teapot, methinks!

www.bbc.co.uk/walesnews -- it's easier to type.

Similarly, www.htvwales.com/news is easier to type, easier to say, easier to remember, and *actually* where the information is stored.

Any other questions, you just let me know.
