CNN International & Domestic

In another one of those WFH shorts which aired moments ago, Quest gave viewers a brief look at what his make shift studio looks like. He’s on his own when it comes to setting the cameras up (for obvious reasons), no autocue.

Having given Charlie Brooker’s Antiviral Wipe a watch last night, that Jeanne Moss report a few months back on Tom Hanks really was beyond tactless. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Jeanne’s style really should not be used on somebody getting a disease/virus and surely she should have had second thoughts when asked about the report.

Couldn't agree more. I find her style to be incredibly irritating generally but this moved from being merely annoying to being downright insensitive. Peppering a news piece about someone being diagnosed with a virus which is killing people with silly wordplay is pretty baffling, whether that person is famous or not.

I may be late in realising this but it seems as if Domestic's midnight live simulcasts with CNNI have been curtailed again only occupying the 4-5am ET timeslot. The way to tell is when the LIVE DOG goes off during recorded footage and when they do not use ET to show the converted time when live on-location footage is featured. Also, I checked the TitanTV schedules and confirmed that this is the case.

And whenever news breaks, they use the CNN USA/International intro, with... "this" piece of music (and yes, CNN Brasil uses the name "Breaking News", in English, for their news flashes):

The graphics in the first video look a little bit like Impact Asia.

Interesting that Time Warner have absolutely nothing to do with CNN Brasil other than essentially doing a Branson and leasing out the name to a “Third Party”....

I would hope CNNI picks up more of their usual international programming sooner than that. BBC anchors in London are operating from their studio, so don't see why more of CNNI's London-based programming (Hala Gorani, the Brief, YWT etc) couldn't resume.

The sets are brilliant! The music is terrible.

The breaking news music sounds like it came from a PS1 game.
