It definetely didn't seem to be the case that ITV originally intended to stripe these episodes based on Jeremy saying 'see you next time' rather than 'see you tomorrow'

I do like how he has carried over 'the producers' from Top Gear Very Happy

Presumably not all of them. Wink
TVMan, DavidWhitfield and Johnr gave kudos

In last night's opening episode, I thought that the background atmospheric music seemed to be more prominent and louder than in recent Clarkson series of Millionaire, especially in questions 1-5. Overall, I preferred it like this.

It is really bizarre in the studio how they do the first 5 questions in silence then start pumping through the usual (but in rather low quality!) background noise from Question 6 onwards

Anyway, apparently it did rather well in the ratings especially considering how many people were glued to BBC1

Yes, I have been in one of the recent celeb recordings myself. Silence until Question 6 and then background atmospheric music but still fairly hushed. On the actual broadcast, this music has still been quieter than the Tarrant editions, but it appeared ramped up slightly last night, also in questions 1-5.

Don't know if they still do it but on Quiz it was implied the music was pumped into the chair itself just to make the contestants that bit more uncomfortable.

I'm fairly sure that kind of thing is artistic license and that, if they really did pump music into the chair, we would have known about it at some point (as a contestant would have likely make a comment about it. Perhaps they did, but surely even Chris or one of the thousands of contestants would have drawn some sort of attention to it back in the day? Confused

Also I’m fairly sure it was only implied that’s what Paul Smith wanted, not what he got.

Another contestant who’s lost a lot of money because they deployed their safety net too late.

Does this relate to the event Clarkson has been talking about?
