Yorkshire Television had two shops, in Lincoln and York, both now closed, which sold various gifts, memorabilia, and other things like Yorkshire Television umbrellas! Did any other ITV company have shops selling such stuff?

There was a Yorkshire Television shop on Eastborough in Scarborough, too. In the Gateshead Metrocentre in the 90s, a shop opened called the Yorkshire Tyne Tees shop, but I believe it was owned or franchised by Chameleon Mirrors. Not sure what the link to TTT/YTV was.

Certainly when a JCB building the A38 cut through the cable carrying BBC Plymouth's BT circuits in 1986 they were able to reequalise the disused 405 line cable that took a different route to the later cables.

What's happened to that MB21 wiki? It's got some odd pages on it, many in Polish

Suspect it's running an old version of mediawiki that has security flaws which have been exploited. I have made MB aware of it and he's going to deal with it.

And the Prospect Centre in Hull. And I think the Sheffield newsroom had a reception that sold YTV tat too.

I remember visiting the Yorkshire Tyne Tees shop in York once, hoping for some geeky merch, like a mini rotating gold chevron, a ceramic Pam Royle or the like. Sadly it was all Emmerdale tea towels and Heartbeat bookmarks and I left with nowt.

I had the same experience

Nothing available with a chevron on, not even a pen, but everything you could wish for with Emmerdale and Heartbeat on. Plus lots of videos.

How many other ITV companies had shops selling items? Did the Granada Studios Tour sell anything?

I bought a Granada mug in a shop they had in Liverpool's Albert Dock, July 1991

I dare say if you wrote to them they'd send you a freebie of some sort, even if it was just a Central branded pen or something. There was a whole bunch of stuff that was on the TV-am twitter feed (which seems to have been suspended for some reason) that looked ripe for "freebie" territory if you wrote in for it.

That's an obvious one, but they didn't sell programming memorabilia, such as mugs, cookbooks etc.

Thames had a few shops, one on the street next to its reception in Euston Road and one in the foyer of the studios at Teddington. I assume the latter was mainly used by audiences as it wasn't really a place you'd visit otherwise.

There was an episode of Strike it Lucky where Barrymore noticed a carrier bag behind the contestant lectern and pulled it out and read out 'Thames Shop!?!?'

They also had a shop in Guildford, that had a little studio at the side used for contributions to Thames News, they had a reporter based there. The shop/studio only opened in 1990ish so wasn't open for long, the signage was there a while after it closed and they went off air as the shop was empty.

I think they had something similar in Dartford
