What pre-Salford? They wouldn't even exist to be played I expect. Besides the presenters would be wrong. They seem to refresh the non-specific links fairly often, Ryan who left to work on Coronation Street no longer appears which is a shame as he was in a lot of the songs that used to get played particularly first thing in the morning.
New CBBC series ‘The Snow Spider’ will air simultaneously on CBBC and BBC One Wales on Sundays from 29th March at 6.05pm. An interesting decision and hopefully something that they could consider for this other shows.
They managed to keep it up the simulcasts for the first three episodes, but the teatime news has been brought forward this week and next, so BBC One Wales have scheduled their first showing a little earlier. (I've been enjoying watching it with our 5 year old!)
Also worth noting today is the first of the temporary CBeebies birthday cards provision, which is quite reminiscent of the Smart art gallery. Just need some Left Bank Two now!
Jamie Johnson series 5, which begins on 7th May, will feature a character coming out as LGBT. Although other CBBC shows like The Dumping Ground, 4 O'Clock Club (and Jamie Johnson previously) have featured LGBT characters, this will be the first time in recent memory that they will have a character on a journey like this. It's really nice to see this diversity and it's something that a lot of people have been calling for in CBBC shows.
You just know people are going to complain about it though. I wholeheartedly support it, but so many others won’t.
Oh yeah. I remember a David Walliams book called ‘Bad Dad’ from a couple of years ago which has a lesbian wedding at the end. The Amazon reviews are quite critical (my child shouldn’t be exposed to this etc.)
Were they also critical about The Boy in the Dress, which, obviously, had a kid cross-dressing? Walliams pushes the limit, tries to make formerly taboo stuff acceptable.

I wasn't working in my current job at the time so I'm not sure, that is the only reason i know about Bad Dad.

I am still glad that the BBC still care about their childrens channel unlike ITV!
