I still can't fathom how some people think newscasters just come in for 30 minutes' work. Imagine if you had to rock up, sit down and merely read off an autocue with no knowledge of what it contained. You'd fluff and stumble your way through. You can fully understand the likes of Huw coming in at lunchtime, if for nothing more than to get a handle on what the bulletin is going to contain, to research the stories, prepare interviews, write scripts (to time, as well, which is highly skilled in itself) and rehearse. Then the mere matter of going live to the nation in a studio environment. It's incredible really and they are so professional as to make it look easy. They're worth every penny in my book.

In terms of the BBC (in normal times at least) they get to rehearse the Six and Ten in Studio E whilst the News Channel is showing the Five or Outside Source respectively.
Silly question perhaps but now individual bulletins don't have the luxury of their own studios does the BBC (and ITV for the matter) do they have a rehearsal space or do they just get the hour before the show. Presumably they do a full run through at some point for time if nothing else.
