Today showing the value of using health/scientific corresondents rather than political ones to ask questions at the daily briefing.
Hugh Pym’s question was direct, concise and useful and in a different league to Peston’s melodramatic, meandering one that beefitted nobody. Peston of all the broadcasters seems to be particularly shocking - his ‘why don’t you trust the British people’ question today was particularly abysmal.

Sian Williams was back presenting 5 News, but with a backdrop presumably broadcasting from home.

Hugh Pym was Economics correspondent for many years before taking the Health gig. It may just be the benefit of being a good, old school, journalist rather than being a health specialist?

Interesting that they've decided to go for that on 5 News but I assume with skeleton crew at ITN, it's likely easier to just keep the Jeremy Vine set in situ.

I like Hugh Pym. Hes not afraid to challenge but is fair with his questions, and is also nice and doesn't try and make the News all about him.

I'd complain about the spacing in their phone number, but I know how much of a faff it is to set the idents on those generators. Even the manual warns that it's "slow and laborious".

It's something that always irritates me too.
The dialling code for London is 020, not 0207 or 0208.
I often used to change ours, and then later discovered that someone had put it back to the wrong format.
Grrrr.

This could go in either the NBC thread or here, but due to the coronavirus someone at NBC News thought it would be good to launch NBC Nightly News for Kids. The show is target for kids between 6 and 16.

Captain Tom Moore coming up shortly on BBC Breakfast with Naga and Charlie; the final lap of his walk, with total raised nearing £14M including pledges. What a man. This promises to be a very touching moment of television.
