Limbering up for #BBCPapers at 2230 and 2330 with @Madz_Grant of @Telegraph & James Rampton from @Independent joining us remotely. But first babysitting Studio C during #WorldNewsAmerica

The gallery is still being used...
Good to know we have TV experts in Debra to help us out. Choices are: employ another team of gallery and studio staff putting them at risk/stopping them from being at home, delay the most watched news bulletin in the country by two hours or what they did. You choose.

We are all armchair critics, but it was certainly a balancing act. Could they have let the presser run and just hard start the 6 when it finished? Yes, but I suppose it would've caused problems with the timed running order and a headache for BBC One scheduling at the last minute (and also the regions).
I note that the online feed on the BBC News website cut straight to the presser after Clive through to the weather, without lower thirds.
Peter getting in a Twitter spat with a viewer, whilst what he was saying is completely valid, wasn't the best choice though.
The press conference could have been hard routed to the News Channel Tx chain, if the Beeb really couldn't delay or abandon the 6pm news. Sorry, but pulling the safety card is rather cynical
My question there would be what would happen if it ended when the Six was in mid flow? They certainly wouldn't have had a presenter in a studio to pick up off the back of it and just crashing into the Six would've looked pretty clumsy.
What should have happened in my opinion is that as soon as it was realised that the conference could go past six it should have been arranged for World to simulcast the six with BBC One to free up the team in gallery C to continue to broadcast the news conference on the news channel (and also providing a presenter to fill time if the conference was to finish midway through the six).
Studio Facilities IMG Studios in the credits (and IMG Studios have 4 small studios in their Stockley Park complex).
However there was also an OB Credit for Cloudbass as usual - so they may have just dry hired the studio and not used an IMG gallery I guess - or IMG may have an alternative space?
I had seen reference to Question Time coming from 'North London' for the foreseeable future - but Stockley Park wouldn't be North London (it's close to Heathrow)

Aha. The voice of reason and logic, Mr. Cook.
Nevertheless, always a pleasure having the Duchess in Studio C. If I’d known, we would have rolled-out the red carpet once more.

Yes, Cloudbass CBOB1 doing gallery duties.
Another Thursday and another Question Time for @cloudbass BOB1. Join us on BBC1 from 8.05 this evening. pic.twitter.com/Hc9d2atXiw

He is continually being given unfair treatment by the TV news channels recently.
He did a full 20-mins interview on Sky News Sunrise this morning. No interruptions.
