She was moved over to Domestic when her show on CNNi ended. She's main cover for New Day Weekend, a National Correspondent and also covers on Early Start.

Agreed. Hugely irresponsible for such the apparent 'Global Leader in News'. The Editorial direction is appalling. At the very least CNN could insert an 'Around The World' segment into the hour.

They've lost all perspective covering Trump's sessions for hours each day. Very sad I'm bashing what was a favourite channel of mine.

Fill-in duty on the lowest-priority CNN Domestic shows essentially so a fairly big demotion.

At least she kept her job which would have been a far worse off situation for her is she’d succumb to the axe.



Indeed I get the coronavirus may have left them short-staffed but the channel has essentially shut down with CNNI bulletins basically just airing during US's overnight hours.

Which maybe might not matter as much if it were say a BBC News/World News type situation and the two channels are similar quality and output but they're not. CNNI's output is more often than not pretty strong whereas CNNUS is just a joke and way too America centered- US perspective on a story isn't a bad thing but on CNNUS it's the only thing.
And CNNI playing second fiddle to Domestic is just the norm at this stage - to the extent that it's a surprise these days if certain scheduled shows like The Brief or YWT make it to air. I honestly think I've seen more of say Kaitlin Collins or Brian Stelter in the last 6 months than I have the excellent Bianca Nobilo who's meant to have a Monday-Friday show on CNNI. While you'd like to imagine it's not the case I do wonders at times if CNN actually cares about CNNI.

Stelter is one of major CNN problems IMO. Initially hired as a media correspondent, specializing in Today Show and other breakfast shows' gossip and behind the scenes drama, this ''know it all'' has become an inescapable talking head in every possible story. Of course most of them are Trump related stories just like 95. What makes him qualified to comment and give opinions on political, legal and other news stories is beyond me.

Howard Kurtz used to do the same thing back when he worked for CNN. It's nothing new. They're both "Media Critics", so they can appear on anything.

Have thought about this for a while but CNNI becoming increasingly US-centric opens up an opportunity for the new NBC Sky World News channel (when that launches) to be a 'genuine' international news service. If it can avoid the temptation of being either US or UK-centric, reckon it can still the gap I reckon CNNI has left open due to the sheer amount of CNN US programs/coverage it now simulcasts

I noticed that New Day's Alisyn Camerota and John Berman are now appearing separately on a video wall for the whole morning newscast, while Julia Chatterley (as a panelist for the morning show) and Richard Quest (for both The Express and QMB) can still use their swanky NY studios. I wonder why.

Anyway, Amanpour is the only show going out of London, she hasn't missed a day I think.
