To be fair, in late 2011 and early 2012, the Daybreak set was made brighter and more appealing - quite a shame it got so quickly dropped in September of 2012 in favour of that horrible yellow-y abomination which lasted for 2 years as well before GMB launched :/

I agree about the Daybreak years but at the same time to censor the past is to disregard it:

Sometimes it's probably best to disregard some things...

In terms of a breakfast tv programme certainly. There are far more important aspects of our history that we should remember no matter how distasteful they are.

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it"

When Mr Santayana first said this, he couldn’t have guessed that it would one day be used to reference Daybreak not being that successful in the breakfast television market.

I think he would have approved of the Goldberg speech though.

That means they might let him host 30 minutes on his own on a Bank Holiday in the near future.

Maybe even sooner in February half-term. He's more than capable of presenting on his own.

Probably the most airtime he's had in 6 years.

Is the ITV announcement always like that, saying to join the 6.30 hosts and then going into the GMB titles introducing someone else?

Sean is a competent presenter but is, for whatever reason, criminally underused. He only features in extremis, when there's really absolutely nobody else available. Think they should make better use of him.

Sean's not exactly short of work, he does Songs of Praise, Countryfile, Inside Out London and Sunday Morning Live outside of GMB so it could be that the current arrangement suits him.

This would appear to be a fair point, however, he only began working on Countryfile in 2015, and he didn't work on Songs of Praise , Sunday Morning Live or Inside Out London until 2017. Good Morning Britain drastically reduced his role from one quarter of the on-air team to a single sport bulletin in the first hour of the programme in late 2014. We cannot, therefore, suggest that his massive reduction in air time on Good Morning Britain is in any way related to these other projects. It may make it more tricky for him to give his time up these days, but it couldn't have influenced the decision to strip him right back in the first place.

Pretty much every single reply to this is about how she sits next to and enables one of the worst offenders of verbally abusing others.

And even after the horrible Flack news from the weekend he’s at it again this morning on Twitter.
