Rico Hizon is leaving BBC World News. After 17 years with the channel.

What's your source on this James? I can see BBC co-workers expressing shock on Twitter but no news source.

This article published just days ago suggests otherwise...

Could this be curtains on the Singapore Bureau as part of the news cuts?

^ I’ve had a few people from BBC News asking me the same question as you, Newsroom, which suggests that the news about Rico is as yet unofficial, OR (hopefully) incorrect.

I'm not sure of its authenticity as yet. Simon Atkinson could well be knee deep in something for posting that before anything official. Loads of BBC people shocked.

A rare live appearance by Laura Kuenssberg on the BBC News Channel right now with breaking news of Chancellor Sajid Javid’s resignation.
