RTÉ One have an archive showing of Bibi Baskin with the late Larry Gogan on now as a tribute to his recent passing. The quality of the archive show tonight is fantastic. It's a pity the government or the BAI cannot allow RTÉ to have an RTÉ Plus/RTÉ Three channel up on air to make the TV Licence a little bit more worthwhile to the licence payers in Ireland.

RTE TV did have a golden age which lasted probably 15 or so years from about 1992 to 2007, they were producing decent watchable shows in all areas of broadcasting. Even now when you watch back the old shows feel fresher than much of today's output. A plus channel would probably make a decent profit even after paying repeat fees. There is very little on it now other than the news.

RTE "golden age" would most likely have been around the late 80s into the 90s when they expanded their broadcasting hours, especially in 1988 when they relaunched RTE 2 as Network 2.

They also seemed to be growing, with the re-opening of Studio 4 in 1994/95 as their main entertainment studio, which took over the role as the main studio from Studio 1 which by the mid 1990s was very small indeed for their big entertainment shows such as the Late Late.

VM2 have a new rugby chat show from next Thursday.

Why do they bother, we all know this show will tank and will be axed very soon. VM seem to try and through out these home produced cheap shows - VM2 would be better of airing The Jonathan Ross Show there instead.

I thought they were calling it “The Late Tackle”... or am I just hallucinating?

No, they did refer to it as that at one point...

It also appears to be a similar format to the “Clubhouse” show they ran in 2017 and 2018.

RTÉ seems to have moved all of the HD equipment out of the Late Late studio tonight and in to the Election set. The quality of camera and graphics of the Late Late tonight are abysmal.

Studio 5 and Studio 3 are their main focus for this weekend

A photo of studio 5 in rehearsals from Jon Williams, director of news. Looks like they will be using the touch screen from The Sunday Game https://twitter.com/williamsjon/status/1225782741842702338?s=21

Would say studio 3 and 5 are been used rather than 4 as the video/graphics walls in both studios will give them more scope to be interactive with the graphics as opposed to studio 4.

Studio 4 was used for previous elections - however RTE did spend a lot of money on upgrading Studio 3 last year and looks really good onscreen I have to say. Studio 5 is around half the size of Studio 4 and it does save money than using their largest studio for a general election.

Where are their election results centre based? Studio 1 maybe since there was no Winning Streak produced this weekend?
