I doubt Paul will, he's a meteorologist by training.

Keeley, Jen, Owain, Kay and Abbie are journalists who have had some training in how to take the forecast somebody else has prepared and interpret it to be able to tell the story on air.

That means they can multi task and work on other non-weather stuff, whereas Paul is very much a weather specialist, and actually able to prepare the forecast himself. (I suspect that these days it's more a case of tweaking the provided forecast with a bit of local knowledge.)

Tyne Tees news came from the newsroom as the studio is ‘getting a lick of paint’. Perhaps sorting out the lighting or plasmas...

Ian Payne presenting Tyne Tees tonight with a newsroom backdrop. Is this pan-regional with Border or have they just removed the backdrop because of the traffic etc on the Tyne bridge?

I really like how they bothered to produce that and even with a rough explanation of why, clearly gutted the programme didn't go out. I wonder how long after the switch it was before someone realised Shocked

Presumably no one dedicated to that, just a monitor showing the output to the gallery team who would be concentrating on the live TTTV programme?

I also wonder how long they took to notice, and in fact even if they did. As in those circumstances surely they’d quickly change to the generic backdrop, apologise to ‘some viewers’ and maybe adjust the running order on the fly.

Depends when they realised and depends on which region was going out live.

I thought ITV regional news had been pan-regional the last few weeks anyway. Did Tyne Tees and Border retain separate shows?
