Could Movies 24+ be next in line for a rebrand. They hardly need 2 channels showing basically the same movies. Was Movies 24+ always a different channel? I presumed it was a +1.

Movies 24+ was originally a +1.5, i.e. a 90 minute timeshift channel.
What is the point in this channel on Freeview anyway? Why would the company benefit from a channel that's only on air from 5-7 am? Surely all this is doing is costing them unnecessary money, and for what? Just so they can say "We have a Freeview channel".

Freeview channels are like gold dust, even if it is at some unGodly hour like 5am.. It gets you more viewership than being behind the paywall on Sky will, since there you're fighting against 400 other channels and being buried behind everything else.

The reason why they have a proper slot for 5am-7am is to keep higher up the EPG. If they didn't have the 2 hours they would be in the streaming only channels around 260 such as Spotlight TV, Racing TV etc.
It is a practice Freeview should have put an end too but their Freeview EPG management has always been poor. It would be good to see any channel broadcasting 3 hours or less a day, especially only overnight, kicked to the 140 overspill section.
