Oho, instead of the waiting page, there is now an HTML error code number 403 currently… Maybe the launch is under way!
LL
Maybe it already launched and this is the crash we were expecting to happen?
I'm kidding of course.
I hope.

I'm not saying it doesn't and I'm looking forward to having it back. I'm not trying to denigrate the effort either.
But I do wonder how often I'll look at it after the relaunch. I'll probably read their Twitter and Facebook posts more than go back to the site. Despite the odd misjudgement and frequent spelling mistakes they've both been doing a good job during the outage
I don't think this is the time or the place to doubt the purpose of TV Ark given how much work those poor guys have put into this, especially given the minority of bellends who are giving them abuse. I know what you're trying to say but TV Ark definitely has its place.

Absolutely, it's up to them when it launches and I'm sure there's a lot of effort going on and a lot of work happening by the team working to a deadline. It's no one else's business when it reappears
Both of which are good reasons for getting it ready and working before announcing a launch date. Saves a lot of stress for the team and maintains goodwill from those who are looking forward to the site coming back.

Is a place for both but I miss the art of people clipping their VTs to the nano-second. As interesting as the surrounding footage might be sometimes it does annoy me when people post a clip of something which doesn't start until a couple of minutes into their clip.
To be honest places like YouTube and Twitter have taken over from sites like TV Ark, the range of clips is just far more diverse and plentiful, and new content added all the time.
That's not to say there's not a place for curated site of archive TV, but it's often a lot better to be able to watch a 10 minute chunk of old TV output than a 20 second ident on a site

I've missed loads of the Twitter/Facebook posts because of the nature of those platforms. I can't wait for the site to return where they will hopefully be in a more permanent and easy to find place. (Same with BBC Archive - I miss lots of stuff they post because they get lost in the timeline, thankfully they've launched a dedicated site now)

I'm a big fan of context and seeing old TV as it was, not just an individual ident or clip. (that said I love seeing the detail of a decent high quality clean ident too)
Hopefully the new TV Ark will have a lot of that too,

The trick is to go to the account itself rather than your feed and binge on the recent posts.
Incidently, my favourite twitter account for old TV is CFB Clips, but there's been nothing new for a year
Off topic I know, just filling the time
