Well the gang of three from Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister are now reunited in the great cabinet office of the skies. Paul Eddington, Nigel Hawthorne and now Derek Fowlds.
Three superb actors, who made Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister one of the great sitcoms of the 20th century.
I shouldn't laugh, but the BBC article quotes Basil Brush giving his sympathies as if he's an actual person (or fox, anyway).
<facepalm>
The level of intelligence /common sense is a worry!
Oh don't be such a misery guts. I found Basil's tweet touching considering the wonderful relationship he had on screen with 'Mr Derek'.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the tweet per se, and the 'indentity' that it's named with, and I agree it is very touching, but news articles need to be a bit more factual.It would have been fine if they'd just cut and pasted the screenshot of the tweet alone
Like Neil says, Basil has always been spoken about as if real. It goes right back to the original performer who refused interviews all his life because he wanted to keep the magic alive.
If they'd used a quote from Sooty, I'd agree it was ridiculous.
