I was so glad Sam didnt go through - im sure he is very good but tbh another Gareth Gates we do not need!!!
I thought Roxanne was very good too so I was glad she went through - I was suprised to see Marc crying so much though, I would have thought he could have held it together considering he was on national tv.

So Marc got the most votes tonight - maybe because of his blubbering! But was he blubbering a few years ago when he was involved in this escapade? - there are some who are saying that he should be dis-qualified - what do you think?
This from Scottish Newspaper 'The Daily Record' today:
"JUDGED ON MY TALENT, NOT MY HISTORY' Sep 27 2003
By Rick Fulton
HOURS before Marc Dillon tries for a place in the Pop Idol final, he refused to apologise for his brutal mugging which left a man for dead.
The Edinburgh-born wannabe was jailed when he and two pals stripped, beat and stabbed dad-of-two Terry Kiernan in Livingston in 1998. But Marc refused to say sorry before taking the stage tonight.
He said: ``I'm totally focused on Pop Idol. I'll be judged on my talent and not on my past.''
When pressed that surely he should at least explain his actions, Marc added: ``I'm under orders not to talk about it. I've nothing to say. Nothing to say at all.''
He repeated the response more than once as we asked about his 12-month conviction after he and his pals stole Terry's clothes, watch, wallet and house keys before ransacking his home and stealing his car.
A Pop Idol spokesman said: ``The public will choose their idol on performances and abilities.''Marc seems to have melted the hearts of the Pop Idol staff, who point out he made them tea.
The remaining hopefuls' performances were recorded on Wednesday and insiders reckon Marc has a good chance of being the third Scot to make it to the final after Michelle and Kirsty."
Thoughts?
If you voted tonight would reading this article have changed your mind?

As was said by the judges, it was a very high standard last night and
almost any of them could have got through. Surprised by the overall outcome, especially for Kieran, thought he stood a really good chance, maybe it was his hair that people didn't like
Maybe he'll get another chance with this wildcard show, anybody know how this is going to work ?

I guess they want to leave the pictures of all the contestants up until the Wildcard show - so that people can remember who they liked previously even if they didn't get through?

Why bother with the status thing? They could just mask the pics, like Big Brother did.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/idol/contestants/ says to "Check back when the contestants are whittled down to the final fifty for more information on each!" Except for one thing - they're now down to the last 50, so where's the info? Digital Spy has gaffed for once!

Interesting. I'm not sure what to make of this if it turns out to be the case. The Pop Idol is somebody who would be "idolised" by the record buying public this means specifically youngsters. Now although I know this is alleged to be all in the past, and I'm all in favour of rehabilitation, it just doesn't seem right.
If it is the case, it's sure to become high profile big news, and he won't be able to dig his head in the sand forever, he'll have to face the music (no pun intended). Unless he faces this, I'm sure his future in the competition will be limited.
Oh, and do we get Tarek next week then ?

Marc deserved to go through regardless of his past but he appeared on ITV1's daytime magazine programme This Morning today.
He announced that he did assist in mugging an OAP and one of the other people used a knife aswell.
The other people had a 5 year sentence whereas Marc only got a one year sentence of which he served 6 months in prison!
He apologised and stated that it was all in the past - maybe this is the reason for him crying all the time?
PS Kieran lost due to his awful haircut

If I recall, Big Brother (and Survivor for that matter) simply changed the HTML pages, they didn't remove the pictures from their webspace - and surely anyone who appears on the wildcard show (I imagine all the 3rd placed will be there?) is not "Voted off" but "Still singing"?

I think it's good that he did this then, better to talk about it and have it out in the open I feel. Whether it will affect his chances remains to be seen.
