Impressive and disappointing in 2020 the Superbowl still won't be in 4K.. Despite Fox offering a 4K feed, it will just be 1080p upscaled. Im surprised they can even advertise that as 4K!

I watched a few of the up converted games and thought the quality was pretty decent but the HDR is what does it. The up-converted games appear to have been on a few networks with NBC doing it with their Notre Dame Football home games, CBS on a few holes during golf and a few testbed cases on Fox. NBCSN has offered a few feeds from the Premiere League matches but does anyone know if they are native UHD or 1080p upscaled.
This year ESPN went native 4K with their college football games and will offer their Championship Megacast in it. As far as I know they are just doing 4K SDR.
Edit: I’m watching the Tottenham - Liverpool match which is airing on NBC and is available in UHD on demand and it appears to be native UHD. The 4K feed appears to be taking the pool feed and announcers rather than a feed with NBC’s announcers and graphics.
A very niche observation on the European rugby: world feeds produced by beIn Sports/FTV have their graphics in French (eg 'remplacements'); whereas S4C are doing their domestic graphics in Welsh, and English for the world feed.

Do Sunset + Vine produce the S4C game - would be no surprise for them to produce an English feed as well.
There’s some tabloid fodder doing the rounds today saying that ITV wants to buy back the Champions League rights from BT Sport. I’d take it with a pinch of salt, the stories suggesting that they want to have a small number of games to increase the exposure.
I’d take the story with a pinch of salt as I’ve only seen links to the The Sun and Sport Bible.
Want and get aren't the same thing. Whilst I think the Champions League does suffer from a lack of FTA exposure (not even highlights now) I don't think BT suffers from it, and they control the rights now. Indeed I think BT losing the Champions League now would be almost as damaging as Sky losing the Prmier League.
The last corporate thinking was that BTTV and BT Sport was back on the growth agenda for BT after a comprehensive review, during which investment was heavily restricted resulting in the SPL and FACup losses. The adding of WWE and (limited agreed) NHL doesn't support the de-investment argument that is being portrayed in the editorial in the Times article. We'll see.
