I found this little tidbit of news interesting. After the merger with VIACOM it seems that CBS Corp is planning on selling The Black Rock. The building that that houses its headquarters for many years. They also own the CBS Broadcast Center on the West Side, a collection of cobbled-together post industrial buildings that house the news and sports studios as well as other productions. VIACOM owns the 1515 Broadway building. Which houses the world-famous MTV studios that overlooks Times Square. CBS recently sold CBS Television City in LA. Could this mean they will be joining ABC and WarnerMedia in building a new HQ from scratch? This will be one to watch in the coming months and years.

Not sure whether to put this here or Sky thread, let’s try here.

I had a look at the NBC coverage of the UK election. Surprised to see in their reports for Nightly News and Today they used many clips of ITV coverage, GMB, the ITV coverage of exit poll, ITV Debate

With the Comcast situation, would’ve assumed if they wanted to clip any UK broadcaster they’d go to Sky

Do they still have a content sharing arrangement with ITV, and any sign they are using any Sky material? Just curious. Seems to have been a while since the deal went through now!

They have used Sky material. However there bureau and other operations are still in the ITV newsroom. Probably the London bureaus systems are intertwined a bit with ITVs and perhaps it’s easier for them to pull files or videos. Also two of their key reporters Keir Simmons and Bill Neely are ITV alumnus.

Someone in another thread said Sky reporters appeared on CNBC (or was it the other way around a CNBC reporter contributing to Sky).

A WSAV reporter, Alex Bozarjian, had recently become a victim of a groping incident as she was out reporting on an outdoor athletics race via a live broadcast on it's news bulletin on a bridge in Savannah, Georgia. WSAV is an affiliate station for NBC & apparently for CNN in the US. While Ms Bozarjian was doing the live news report; a male participant who was in the race groped her by slapping her on her bottom. He had handed himself into the police after he carried out the offence. Under the laws in that state; he is now getting himself formally charged with sexual battery. The interpretation of the laws in that state would count as assault to the woman's private parts. He has made an apology to her, via a TV interview, to say that he had regret carrying out the incident. Ms Bozarjian had an interview on CBS This Morning to explain her reaction to the incident. She wanted to continue with him getting formally charged for the offence. A longer snippet of her interview with CBS is available on this CNN article.

New drama on The View. IMO Whoopi was rude and as annoying as Meghan's antics can be, she should be heard.

NBC Nightly News once more played the full titles at the close of the Christmas Day programme. Unfortunately they didn’t play the full version of ‘The Mission’.

Do all the local news programmes play out on Christmas Day pretty much as normal in the States?

Depends on the market. In New York, all of the main local news bulletins went out with largely stand-in anchors. In smaller markets, they get the day off.

It really depends. Here in Baltimore I was surprised that two stations had morning news WBFF had their morning newscast in full from 4:30-10AM, WBAL truncated their morning news to two hours from 5-7AM (normally started at 4:30pm). The other two WMAR and WJZ ran religious/holiday fare.

WBAL and WJZ preempted their 12PM newscast, WBAL their 5PM, WJZ their 4PM.

WMAR preempted almost the entire days until the 11PM.

While WBFF apparently aired everything in full.

The move to DC paying dividends for CBS Evening News? Mike Pence was interviewed in studio.

God, imagine if Fox News were based in Washington.
