Amazing difference between Chromecast Ultra HD version and my Samsung smart TV with Amazon app.
Chromecast is jerky and not sharp. The app on the TV is crystal clear 4k quality.
Anyone have any info to back up the tech specs and the experience from each?
My Samsung tv app is jerky and varying quality constantly.

I’m currently 30 seconds behind someone else watching on amazon prime - when the recent goal was scored they had time to text it before we saw it.
I really do think it’s quite a big issue with football because the majority of people don’t watch it without social media interaction - it’s not something people watch with their phones away in complete silence.
Next year is going to be chaotic at Christmas with these matchdays. With the first of the World Cup 2022 disrupted seasons in flow, 2021-22 will end early to enable 2022-23 to start sooner. Boxing Day occurs on a Saturday so the festive TV Football schedules will be all over the place. The BT NYD pack fares a little better with that being on Friday, so an all day Sunday 'normal' programme with a match switched to the following Monday could be crammed in to make a weekend fit.
Presumably, the Saturday 2.45 - 5.00pm black-out rules do not apply when a Saturday falls on a classified 'bank/public holiday' then?
If not, Amazon have just paid for three seasons worth, when they can only broadcast two.

I put the Villa match on at my parents today through my Amazon Prime account as they had a new Smart TV a few months ago (a Samsung as it happens), and it was connected wireless. And there were no problems whatsoever. Well the broadcast had a little technical issue or two but nothing that one could do anything about.

Strange as it might seem it is perfectly possible to watch a TV football programme without being on social media AND without being on a phone. I manage it all the time.
Your problem is you like to tar everybody with the same brush.

I think it does but is amazon classed as a broadcast? Or will they simply put all their matches at 12.30/5.30.

Streaming is covered as well, but it’s up the FA to set the blackout dates with UEFA, and given that Boxing Day has as many (if not more) games at 3pm than a typical Saturday they haven’t seen a reason to include it in the back out dates before. So I wouldn’t expect any problems on the 26th December* next year.
(*Being a pedant the Boxing Day bank holiday will actually be the 28th next year.)
Are the Boxing Day rights for the Saturday next year then or will it be the midweek matches? I vaguely remember when the packages were first up for auction they didn't include Boxing Day and New Years Day every year - some years were three lots of midweek matches rather than two.
I now, after having a discussion online tonight believe that AZPV will get one of the holiday MWs for sure plus a normal MW, BT are likely to retain the half of a midweek (the Jan 2020 midweek this year) plus the remainder of the split weekend matches (the Feb 2020 batch). The remaining week is up for discussion, it could be a normal midweek depending on the fixture process or another BH. But remember the World Cup adjustments will affect 2021-2 going forward.
Isn’t it the case that Amazon’s Package F doesn’t specifically stipulate “Boxing Day”, but rather “one bank holiday and one midweek” instead? While BT gets “15 matches from two midweek fixture programmes and 5 matches from the split weekend”:
