And it's bland, too much white, like the whole graphics package.

Every time they do a big event there's more and more white and less colour, next time it might be purely black and white retro style.

Why is the political editor and deputy editor in Sky HQ, a good distance away from Westminster? Who is in Westminster to get the big name interviews? It was Sophy Ridge last time, there is nobody now?

Vote 2017 is a mile ahead at the moment, both in terms of presentation and coverage.

It looks so good, the building, graphics, main desk. Love the coloured stripes.

This big gap in the lower thirds is very annoying.

Well Studio isn't bad, it's better than it would be in Westminster, the Glass Box, or the other studio, but still the studio in 2017 was better.

Good overall - a bit of picture breakup on a couple of the OB feeds I've noticed.

The coloured stripes on the left of the graphics being almost exactly one stripe too wide for the clock is driving my OCD wild though...

What big names are you expecting in Westminster? Corbyn and Johnson are in their own constituencies. As are all other potential MPs.

Were you expecting an interview with Larry the Cat by any chance?

Music is awful id prefer the usual music to that as there isnt much to it but as I said the other day Sky Central looks stunning. The graphics are full of white but once the results come in that will change a bit. at least when they put the info bar above it we have a big block of colour too

Agree about the stripes they could have just made each one smaller or made the clock slightly longer. tiny change that would have looked neater

live wipe whilst bars of white has a nice animation to it. don't see why they haven't used the multicolored ones from the promo though and it would match the desk. the middle section with LIVE could have remained white

John Bercow I think is going to be a fun guest to take us through the night

owww the rarely seen 6 way live - I like that they have added the multicoloured blocks to the top of it too

Sky should seriously think about keeping some of these elements used tonight. the VR graphics look like they are hanging from the roof rather than just floating in mid air over some pictures . the camera with the sweeping shot of the box and sky central looks so impressive. compare that to the dull lifeless TOTH and backdrop of the usual box. the ticker outside the box makes a nice backdrop though and the box itself looks nice all lit up inside and out

id like to see them keep the full set but its too interesting for the bosses to keep more than a couple of days

Even small things like keeping the music and even doing a shot from outside the Glass Box at the top of the hour would instantly improve the TOTH.
It's probably unrealistic to expect them to do what they did tonight( with VR graphics handing over the roof, sweeping shots of Sky Central) every day but you compare it to the usual presentation and its night & day. It's punchy but still allows the news to be the focus which is the key.

The music has really grown on me throughout the night - as it builds to a crescendo it has a sense of 'sit up, this is important' that the usual TOTH hasn't had for years.

The music - actually it's not that bad.

Does it work as a theme tune as well as decision time? Not really. Does it work for a big reveal, big moment like an exit poll? Unquestionably it does, even if they messed the timing up at 10pm.

The music appeared to run, thump like for the results, silence for 2 seconds, another thump and the result coming on which halted the crescendo. When the Conservative win was confirmed the music was used again with same camera sequence but the music finished was followed by a single thump timed with a graphic reveal, which is probably what should have happened at 10pm.

Generally all in all tonight showed why the Glass Box or the small studio will never rival the old Sky News Studio. Tonight showed you what Sky News can be with a proper, large multi purpose studio that they should still have today. There was more creativity tonight than we've seen in the whole time in the glass box. Yesterday the Glass box was used as background scenery, which is fitting really, because looking nice in the background as part of a bigger studio is probably the one thing it does well.
