Probably makes sense to cover the actual election shows in a new thread.

Sky News coverage begins shortly at 9pm with an hour of carefully trying to avoid breaking any broadcasting rules before the polls close at 10pm and the exit poll is revealed.

BBC, ITV and C4 coverage begins at 9.55pm, with dedicated programming in the nations on BBC Scotland, BBC Wales and BBCNI, plus also on STV and S4C. BBC Scotland coverage is also on BBC Parliament.

LBC are streaming coverage on their website and the Global Player.

Seems a big night presentation wise - obviously Huw Edwards takes over at the BBC, but more notable is the move away from the large purpose built studio, so it'll be interesting to see if that works. I don't think it's a coincidence that Sky News and ITV News seem to be making a bigger deal of their atriums this time around too.

Sky's studio looking very impressive and open. Very ikea-ish.

To think we all worried over the last few years about what Sky's presentation would be like the for the election.
It's very impressive and does show off Sky Central very well.

Pleased to see Dermot chairing proceedings overnight too rather than Adam Boulton

Wonder if anything will come from the inside of the glass box.

Is this the first election night Dermot has hosted or did he do them at ITN - perhaps the virtual graphics?

The opposite of impressive was the title music bed.

True. Sounded like a techno music station.

Indeed but powers that be wanted a change, so they got it.

A quick look at Sky News and is wonderfully open plan, something which has been missed for recent years. The election coverage looks rejuvenated after previous monotone Adam Boulton overnight bulletins in the past.

I will copy over the information from the Christmas GE thread here again for viewers in Northern Ireland.

If you are in Northern Ireland. These are the arrangements for these viewers from tonight going on into Friday.

Mark Carruthers will be on BBC One NI from 9:55pm to 6am. It will then simulcast Emily Matlis on BBC One NI from 6am to 1pm.

Huw Edwards will be on BBC Two NI tonight from 10pm to 6:30am. With no BBC Two NI HD for Sky & Freesat viewers yet. The only HD options to see Huw's coverage for those people in NI will be available on BBC One HD (Network version) & the NC.

This is what the Sky News studio should look like, not that glass box!
