That's part of the problem with BBC News. They take themselves far too seriously. RTE News at least can have a moment of fun at the end of the bulletin without it affecting their reporting.

The same BBC News that once had staff dancing round the newsroom Christmas tree at the start of a bulletin?

Zainab Boladale has hit out at online bullies making racist comments against her while working for RTÉ.

Here is a statement from Jon Williams about the racist comments.

Those racist bullies who abused Zainab in this way are disgusting individuals. Shame on them.

RTE blanking out sections of the 6.1 news on RTE+1 .

Not entirely sure what story it is .

Possibly they were restricted on using video footage from another news provider, possibly a US provider, and they were only allowed to air it once, and the plus one could not air it.

Don't think it was that .

Judging by what is their main stories online and the sections they seemed to blank , up to 710pm and coming back at 730pm , it seems to be either the people found in lorry on ferry going to Rosslare or part of their story about fake insurance policies

Does anyone know where RTE News will be providing its coverage of the UK general election in December?

Will they have a studio in London, as well as using Studio 3 in Dublin, or will they just have correspondents in London, and be based mostly in Dublin?

Does anyone know if RTE have used large London studios for previous general elections? Because I have it in the back of my memory that they used the former Match of the Day studio in Television Centre for the 2010 general election, right?

Yes for the last British GE Bryan Dobson anchored coverage from The BBC ONE show studio. The studio layout remained fully the same as shown on the bbc show. Coverage ran from about 11am to 1.30pm with Bryan joined in studio by a panel of guests and took feeds from the BBC main GE coverage.

You're right that they used TC5 in the past although I couldn't tell you which year. It was used for the VR stuff for one election after Sport had vacated it.

Yes - RTÉ used the BBC Sport studio at TVC, TC5, in the past I believe (as it had a standing set they could use) - though that wasn't a large studio. At Television Centre TC2, TC5 and TC7 were described as the small studios.

It was a lot larger than The One Show studio they used more recently though.

At long last. Catriona Perry is back on RTÉ's 6.1 News. Although she is with Ray Kennedy in studio.
